Move over, DiGiorno. There’s a new frozen pizza in town. And it’s got Oprah Winfrey’s name on it.
Yep. The media powerhouse recently teamed up with food giant Kraft Heinz to expand her comfort food line called O, That’s Good! to include healthy frozen pizza. And why not? Nielsen estimates annual US sales of frozen food at $53 billion! Look for the exclusive story in PEOPLE magazine, on stands Friday. Ads for the new pizza kick off on Oct. 2.
We hope the varieties taste as good as they sound — Five Cheese Pizza, Uncured Pepperoni Pizza, Supreme Pizza and Fire Roasted Veggie Pizza. What makes it so healthy? Each one has a crust made with one third cauliflower. About $7, the pies are also made with part-skim mozzarella and contain no artificial ingredients.
“It took a lot of trial and error to get the crust just right,” says Winfrey, Weight Watcher’s investor and spokesperson, who has reportedly lost 40 lbs on the system. “There’s room for pizza in my life, and in anyone’s life, but you’ve got to balance it.”
Winfrey has proved time and time again that her touch is nothing but golden. Will you try it?
